WellCare Surprises Metropolitan Ministries With $15,000 And Hundreds Of Toys To Support Families In Need


Company Responds to Meet Critical Need for Holiday Aid

TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 24, 2012) - WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG) recently presented Metropolitan Ministries with a $15,000 donation. This surprise contribution was hand-delivered by nearly 100 WellCare employees along with hundreds of toys for Metropolitan Ministries' holiday tent.

WellCare and Metropolitan Ministries have engaged in a public-private collaboration since 2008. This partnership has leveraged the organizations' unique resources and expertise to address the needs of underserved residents in Tampa Bay. In 2012, WellCare and its employees donated more than $56,000, approximately 3,700 pounds of food, provided more than 5,200 toys and other items, and volunteered over 750 hours.
