Innovative Online, Social and Mobile Technologies Create Personalized Teaching and Learning Experiences

Pearson today announced its lineup for EDUCAUSE 2012 which includes new initiatives in online, social and mobile technologies. These solutions are designed to support faculty access to Open Educational Resources and deliver personalized, engaging learning experiences for students and educators.
Pearson will be showcasing its solutions during EDUCAUSE at booth #1423, November 6-9 in Denver.

Project Blue Sky
Pearson's Project Blue Sky is a cloud-based content service that provides faculty with easy access to Open Educational Resources (OER). Pearson is partnering with Silicon Valley non-profit Gooru, a search engine for learning materials, and will leverage Gooru's powerful search capabilities to build applications that seamlessly integrate OER with faculty-created and premium Pearson content.
Faculty will also have the ability to publish their customized digital course content within multiple types of learning management systems, including Pearson's OpenClass and LearningStudio.
With the anticipated beta launch in spring 2013, Project Blue Sky will directly address barriers to the adoption of digital material and Open Educational Resources.
Introduced one year ago, Pearson's OpenClass is a dynamic, scalable, fully cloud-based learning environment that stimulates social learning and enables the distribution of content at massive scale. Available to faculty, students, and institutions at no cost, OpenClass has seen accelerated adoption in the past year by more than ten thousand educators and tens of thousands of students at thousands of institutions.
At EDUCAUSE, OpenClass will showcase new social and mobile features, a new user interface (UI), and a dedicated app for iPad. Also being debuted later this year is the OpenClass Exchange, a destination for educators at any institution to access top educational content, including best-in-class Open Educational Resources (OER).
