“Dinner at the NYSE” Video Examines Impact of Diversity Mandates, Economic Policies, Thought Leadership on Corporate Gender Diversity

ION President Sarah Meyerrose was interviewed by Lipscomb University College of Business Dean Turney Stevens as part of his weekly video program, Conversations with the Dean. During the interview, Ms. Meyerrose discussed gender diversity on corporate boards and provided an in depth look at the Moving the Needle initiative. Entitled “Dinner at the NYSE,” the video also showcases Ms. Meyerrose's insight on:

  •     Whether increasing corporate board diversity may potentially level out economic fluctuations facing large public companies in the U.S.
  •     The installation of new board diversity mandates in Europe and the possibility of U.S. government-mandated board regulations
  •     The biggest challenges currently facing the banking industry and how unprecedented banking policies and aggressive regulations are impacting the economy

Lipscomb actively supports the Women on Corporate Boards initiative sponsored by CABLE, an ION member organization based in Nashville. Lipscomb is also CABLE's research partner. CABLE's research on the number of women on the boards of U.S. public companies in Tennessee will be published in December in ION's Annual Status Report, along with similar statistics from 15 other member organizations across the U.S.

As a nominating committee chair of a public board, Dean Stevens is considered an expert on a variety of business matters. His video program focuses on inspirational business leaders, highlights their experiences and advice, and is circulated to Lipscomb students and 5,000 thought- and community leaders.
