On November 5, 2012, travel company Surf Patch released a statement following an Australian Business Traveller article by David Flynn regarding Gold Coast Airport's new express lane offered to its premium traveller's.
According to the Australian Business Traveller article, “Gold Coast Airport will open a fast-track security lane for 'premium passengers' on December 1st.” According to airport spokesperson Karen Harrigan, the new express lane will be available for those traveling in business class out of the Gold Coast. The article also informs that, “The priority lane will also be open to top-tier frequent flyers including Platinum-grade members Qantas and Virgin Australia plus Air New Zealand's Gold Elite members.” The article states that some of the airports will have a self service bag drop to make clearing airports security for its premium members a breeze.
Travel company Surf Patch applauded Gold Coast Airport for making airport security faster and less of a hassle for its passengers.
