Foodies' delight as Forman & Field throw open their doors in celebration of a decade in business
Online gourmet food company known for its smoked salmon, hampers and support of independent producers to host a free tasting day ahead of Christmas rush.

Forman & Field is preparing to celebrate a successful decade in business by giving foodie fanatics a rare glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes.
On Saturday, 10 November the company will open its door to gourmands, chocoholics, Christmas shoppers and nosy parkers, all of whom will be treated to tours of the on-site salmon smokery, food from the famous Formans Restaurant and stalls featuring delicious goods from some of Forman & Field's favourite suppliers.
“Lovers of fine food associate us with quality, traditional and modern British produce and with support for independent producers up and down the country,” said Mike Stainthorpe, General Manager. “But it's possible that some of our customers don't realise the sheer range of goods on offer. Our Forman & Field hampers are, rightly, legendary, but we offer a whole range of meats, fish and shellfish, wonderful cheeses, chocolates, cakes and puddings, larder staples and wine, including the now-popular English sparkling wine. We also offer whole pre-prepared menus which are excellent value for money.
“Customers new and old will be warmly welcomed and I hope they come to taste a range of our produce and leave pleasantly surprised at the range of foods they can order. From teatime treats to prize-winning turkeys,we have Christmas covered.”
Producers confirmed to attend the tasting day include:
- Neal's Yard Dairy – Britain's best cheese supplier,
- Michael Nadell of Nadell Patisserie – a true master baker, renowned among London restaurateurs,
- Damian Allsop – new school chocolatier and creator of the intriguing water ganache,
- Seldom Seen Farm – Rick Stein ‘food heroes', producers of free range geese and turkeys as well as the mighty Three Bird Roast,
- Mrs Kings Pork Pies – makers of authentic Melton Mowbray pork pies since 1853, and
- Peter's Yard – bakers of traditional, healthy sourdough breads and crispbreads.
