The Henry Ford Offers Guests $5 Day on November 3 2012

Admission for all venues- Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, Ford Rouge Factory Tour and IMAX Theatre just $5

Dearborn, Mich (PRWEB) November 01, 2012

In 1914 Henry Ford made the historic decision to offer his workers the wage of $5 per day, a move that helped build the U.S. middle class and the modern economy. In honor of our founder's $5-revolution, on November 3, 2012 guests can visit Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, the Ford Rouge Factory Tour or IMAX Theatre for just $5 each. Children four and under are free at the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village and children two and under are free at the Ford Rouge Factory Tour. Children who do not require their own seat are free at the IMAX Theatre.

The idea of the $5 workday transformed after the success of the moving assembly line. Henry Ford had reasoned that since it was now possible to build inexpensive cars in volume, more of them could be sold if employees could also afford to buy them. The announcement drove thousands of prospective workers to the Ford Motor Company employment office. The pay increase contributed to the emergence of the American middle class while in the process changed manufacturing forever.

Also on November 3, the Henry Ford Museum will be opening the doors to its newest exhibition, LEGO® Architecture: Towering Ambition, featuring 13 world famous architectural icons recreated into LEGO® sized models. Exhibit creator and LEGO® Certified Professional Adam Reed Tucker will be on-hand to meet with guests during the exhibition's opening day. Admission to LEGO® Architecture: Towering Ambition is free with ticket purchase to Henry Ford Museum.

Guests interested in visiting all venues included in the special $5 day admission can do so for the combined ticket price of $20 a person. Just make sure you have enough time. Visitors who decide to purchase admission to all venues must visit each attraction on that day. The $5 day special ticket pricing is available for purchase onsite only and is not available online or in advance.

The one day only event is made possible by the Ford Foundation ArtsAccess program which has been on the frontlines of social change working with visionary leaders and organizations around the world for more than 75 years. For more information on $5 day at The Henry Ford visit
