Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) November 01, 2012
Stephen S. Wise Temple welcomes former California Governors Gray Davis and Pete Wilson on Thursday, November 1, as they participate in a moderated discussion about Propositions 30 and 38 - both revenue increase initiatives that will appear on the next week's election ballots. Our state's former Governors Davis and Wilson will dialogue about these initiatives and the challenges that they see for California's economic future.
Dr. Raphael Sonenshein, Executive Director of the Edmund C. “Pat” Brown Institute for Public Affairs of California State University, Los Angeles, will pose questions pre-selected from audience submissions, as well as his own to the governors for their opinions and perspectives.
The Social Justice Department of Stephen S. Wise Temple, under the direction of Rabbi Ron Stern, is pleased to offer this program to increase our community's awareness about issues of major concern to citizens of California. Rabbi Stern notes, " The Stephen S. Wise community recognizes that it is of vital importance that complex issues are considered carefully, and that we must remain engaged in California politics to help determine the future of our state."
