Madera County continues to grow its reputation as the “Heart of Pomegranate Country” and is an important hub of the county's pomegranate industry. “The vast majority of pomegranate products you see on grocery store shelves got its start right here in Madera.” said Jarrod Lyman, Director of PR for the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau and Chairman of the Madera Tourism Alliance, a committee of the Madera Chamber of Commerce. Madera County has dedicated this week to celebrating the beautiful pomegranate. With Twin Pomegranates' pomegranate orchards located in Southern Madera County, they are proud sponsors of the Celebration and Festival.

“We are excited to be a part of the Pomegranate Festival,” said Brian Davis co-owner of Twin Pomegranates. “California has a terrific climate for growing large, great tasting, juicy pomegranates. We grow our pomegranates here in Madera County and work with local wineries to produce our pomegranate wine.” Brian is a member of the Madera Tourism Alliance Committee, which is responsible for organizing this week's celebration events and the weekend's Pomegranate Festival. “We had a very successful festival last year and are looking to have an equally impressive showing this year” There is no cost to attend and no cost for parking!

Twin Pomegranates will entertain crowds with their version of Top Shot with the ‘Grenade Launch'. Imagine launching a baseball sized red juicy pomegranate at a 6 ft target over 100 ft away 30 ft in the air. If it's entertainment you're looking for, this ‘Grenade Launch' will not let you down. “We chose to call it the ‘Grenade Launch' because the grenade derived its name from the pomegranate. The inside of a pomegranate has hundreds of juice filled packet called arils, where a grenade is filled with little bits of shrapnel,” says Brian.

To keep the festival fun, Mayor of Madera, Brett Frazier starred in “Pomegranate Rock Anthem” a parody of LMFAO's “Party Rock Anthem.” The music video showcases Twin Pomegranates Wine as well as other wineries and businesses of Madera County and features the happy citizens of Madera. “Pomegranate Rock” has got over 13,000 views after being released less than two weeks ago.
