Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 31, 2012

As of last year, Florida is one of the top 3 states in the U.S. that has the highest theft rate of heavy equipment and cars. There is no doubt that most people in America either know of someone who had their vehicle stolen or have unfortunately been a victim themselves. Auto theft has continuously been a huge problem but now heavy equipment and big rig theft is on the rise, especially in Florida. In a report released August 22nd, 2012 from NICB (National Insurance Crime Bureau) and the NER (National Equipment Register), it was found that Florida ranks 3rd in most heavy equipment thefts. "In 2011, the NCIC received 11,705 theft reports. In descending order, the five states with the most incidents of heavy-equipment theft were Texas, North Carolina, Florida, California, and Georgia. Together, those five states accounted for 40 percent of total equipment theft. Rounding out the top ten were Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Missouri. The top ten states accounted for 59 percent of all thefts."

Determined to make this horrible cycle come to an end, the Ravelco Anti Theft Device has made a pledge to make auto theft a thing of the past. Since 1976, the Ravelco has been installed in over 4 million vehicles and has never been defeated. The most frequent asked question is how is the Ravelco so effective? Here is what Attila Kovacs, the owner of Florida Ravelco said, “The Ravelco is installed in or under the dashboard. Underneath the dash the wires behind the Ravelco base unit are protected with steel, so thieves can't get access to them. Inside the engine compartment, all the wires are hidden inside the factory wiring, and behind engine components. In addition, there are no color coded wires and there are no master plugs for the Ravelco. You can be assured that only your plug will work on your equipment. With more than 100,000 possible combinations for the Ravelco Anti-Theft Device it's impossible for a thief to duplicate it.”

The Ravelco is unlike any of its competition. Compared to tracking systems such as LoJack, the Ravelco prevents your vehicle from being stolen in the first place. The LoJack will help track the vehicle after the owner reports it stolen but at this point, the vehicle typically has already been stripped and dumped. Furthermore, thieves are using sophisticated debugging equipment to find, remove and discard the tracking transponder. Other security systems such as car alarms (Viper, Clifford, etc.) are only noise makers. According to the non-profit Highway Loss Data Institute, cars with alarms show no overall reduction in theft losses compared to cars without alarms. Car alarms need power from the car to operate and thieves have multiple ways of interrupting power going to the alarm or they can silence the alarm by clipping one wire. The Ravelco Anti Theft Device proves itself time and again as the only security system available to protect your vehicle from being hotwired.

The Ravelco has been endorsed by NICB (National Insurance Crime Bureau), local police and major companies such as Ryder and Sprint. The Ravelco has also been featured in GM High Tech Performance Magazine, Car & Driver, Hot Rod Magazine, AutoTrader Classics, Two Guys Garage, HiTek Hot Rods, Speed and TruckU.

Here's what people are saying about the Ravelco…

“Use an anti theft device that is visible to the thief. One such device cited repeatedly by police and insurance consultants is the Ravelco, a steel-encased engine disabler activated by removing a small dash key.” – “Top Five Ways to Avoid Car Theft” by Aaron Robinson, Car & Driver Magazine

“As the values of muscle cars, hotrods and classics continue to rise, so does theft. Ravelco's anti theft device offers a unique solution for gear heads looking to protect their cars with an easy to use security device consisting of a small 16 pin-plug that can be mounted out of sight under the dash where it won't affect the original appearance or electrical system of a collector car. Essentially, when you remove the plug, it's like cutting the vehicles' wiring harness at several locations. Without inserting the plug there is no way for a thief to start the car.” – “Test and Tune: Classic Car Security” Hot Rod Magazine

Florida Ravelco ( is the authorized distributor in South Florida for the Ravelco Anti Theft Device. The Ravelco is distributed worldwide and is the leader in its industry proving that with over 4 million installations since 1976 and has never been defeated by a thief.
