New Book Encourages Young Pet Owners

Author Lolita Morris announces the release of new children's book, ‘Mike and Me-Sha'

MANTECA, Calif. (PRWEB) October 31, 2012

With the release of her debut book, “Mike and Me-Sha” (published by Trafford Publishing), children's author Lolita Morris weaves a charming tale of a young boy who learns of the joys – and responsibilities – of owning a pet.

“This is a story of a boy who finds love and friendship from a little dog named Me-Sha,” writes Morris of her kid-centric tale.

Illustrated by Haley Hartellius, the book includes engaging mixed-media techniques using colored pencils, crayon and graphic design. Additionally, easy-to-grasp vocabulary will put early readers at ease while challenging them with new words and sentence structures. Such attention to detail allows the book to achieve a well-rounded approach to both entertainment and education. This balance in her writing, says Morris, is in many ways innate.

“I come from a family of authors,” says Morris. “My father Tim Hall published a book of poems back in the 60's, and he is currently writing a novel about his experiences during that decade.” Morris also notes that her uncle and grandfather are also published authors. “I feel it in my blood to pursue writing.”

At the end of “Mike and Me-Sha,” Morris hopes readers will pass on the lessons learned.

“I am passionate about helping animals. I couldn't think of anything better than to educate the young on the importance of being a responsible pet owner.”
