Oceanhouse Media Launches Four Dr. Seuss Book Apps for Windows 8


This marks the first time the company has developed book apps for PCs.

Leading app publisher Oceanhouse Media, Inc. today announced the release of four Dr. Seuss book apps for Windows 8. This marks the first time the company has developed book apps for PCs.

The Dr. Seuss titles now available in the Windows Store include The Cat in the Hat, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, The Lorax and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Ranging in price from $3.99 to $4.99, the book apps run on Windows 8 PCs and tablets, working well with both mouse and touch.

The book apps feature Dr. Seuss's original text and illustrations combined with realistic sound effects, professional narration and custom background audio. In addition, individual words are highlighted as the story is read and words zoom up and are spoken when pictures are touched. A new page selector allows readers to easily turn to any page within each book app.

Three reading options included are Auto Play (geared toward younger readers), which plays like a movie by automatically reading and turning pages; Read To Me, which allows users to listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read; and Read It Myself, which lets users read the book in its traditional format.
