Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 29, 2012

On Tuesday October 23rd, 2012, Elizabeth Gordon, host of Burr & Forman's Results Matter radio on Business RadioX®, was joined in the downtown Atlanta studio by Emily Fu, the Founder and CEO of Capital Investment International Inc. who was this year's winner of the Individual of the Year and Wilson Faure the CEO of Advanced Global Partners who was a finalist for New Company of the Year at the Atlanta World Showcase & Governor's International Awards. Ed Brown of Burr & Forman joined the group for a lively discussion of International Business and how it relates to Atlanta.

During the interview, Emily shared her background and discussed how differently China and Indonesia viewed Atlanta before and after the 1996 Olympics. She also talked about how important it is for American businesses to understand the countries they are moving into before going there and cited the recent closing of twelve Home Depot stores in China as an example. She explained that her firm, Capital Investments International helps American businesses go into Asian markets by helping them understand the culture as well as the regulations and requirements. She also works tirelessly on selling Chinese and Indonesian businesses on the value of doing business in Atlanta.

Wilson Faure and Advanced Global Partners works in much the same way with Latin America and specifically Brazil He discussed the challenges for Americans entering the markets there and agreed with Emily saying that whether it is Asia or South America, “the number one mistake companies make is moving into a new country without a plan”.

Burr & Forman attorney Ed Brown noted that both Emily and Wilson are making significant contributions to economic development in Atlanta and referred to the presidential debate when explaining how relevant both regions were for international business and foreign policy.
