Plumbworld Overhauls Facebook Page & Close in on 17,000 Likes


Plumbworld took the leap onto Facebook almost a year ago now and since starting out they've made a massive impact on the social community. The Plumbworld page has seen a complete overhaul this past week and is also closing in on 17,000 likes as the count currently stands at 16,522.

Many businesses, both online and offline usually take to social media, blogging and various other methods of expressing an online presence eventually. Plumbworld was quite eager to make their mark on the internet and did this through the use of clever social media integration which allowed them to form a strong relationship with their customer base.

This base of interaction allowed the business to converse with its customers and offer them the latest deals, discounts and voucher codes to reward them for being loyal fans of the brand. On top of this, there has also been iPad and Kindle giveaway competitions hosted on the Plumbworld page and word from the marketing department would suggest there is more to come in the future.

Since the update, the page has taken on much more of a Plumbworld identity which makes people know they're on our page as soon as they click to it. We expect more updates to the page will occur in the future as the brand continues to expand and there will most definitely be some competitions coming up... We might even be able to sneak one in before Christmas!”

At current the Plumbworld Facebook page stands at 16,522 likes. Liking a page is a way for Facebook users to express social justification and let others know that a business or brand is worth dealing with and that they've had a positive experience previously. When a user likes a page, they also become subscribed to the brand, this results in any updates being posted onto the user's newsfeed which can be a valuable source of interaction, assuming the user doesn't unsubscribe or unlike the page.

The Plumbworld page offers a variety of time sensitive offers so that only subscribed users can take advantage of them. However, people must be quick as these are usually very limited and short lived – think of it as a small reward for loyalty.

Sometimes it's something as low key as free delivery on a bathroom mirror whilst sometimes they offer up to 50% off a best selling product. This is why it pays to keep your eyes peeled when browsing through Facebook. is hosted on the large Online Home Retail network at present. The network already hosts close to 50 niche-specific websites which sell a whole range of products, varying from garden ornaments and cordless power tools all the way to workshop heaters and car trolley jacks. Online Home Retail Limited was originally Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a brand overhaul in June 2012. The business now employs close to 60 people in its purpose built warehouse and offices whilst turning over in excess of £20 million per year.
