94% of Brits Don't Want a Cheap Holiday

The All Inclusive Holiday Specialist - Alihoco, Inspired by a recent BBC Watchdog program about the quality hotels supplied by online travel agents, asked its 11,0000 Facebook followers an important question – Price or Quality?

(PRWEB UK) 25 October 2012

The results of the survey where overwhelming and showed that 80% of people questioned said that they wanted ‘good quality 3-5* hotels at the best possible price whilst only 6% of those questioned said that they just wanted the cheapest deal.

  •     80% of people said that they wanted ‘good quality 3*-5* hotels at the best possible price
  •     14% of people wanted to only choose from hotels with an excellent TripAdvisor score
  •     6% of people said that they don't care about the hotel as they just wanted ‘the cheapest holiday possible'

Alihoco's managing Director Tom Warsop says

“the majority of our customers ask us for a Cheap Holiday, but this research proves that this is not really what they want. 80% of people who responded to our survey stated that they wanted search results to show them good quality 3*-5* hotels at the best possible price which indicates to me that there is a very clear differential between ‘cheap' and ‘good value'

Since our inception, Alihoco has concentrated on bringing the widest possible range of All Inclusive Holidays to its clients and like most online travel agents, this means that searches return both very cheap as well as very expensive holiday options… it seems that we might have perhaps missed the point!

This information could be critical to all online travel agents who actively try and offer its users the cheapest possible holidays.

Following this research Alihoco are now considering reducing the number of holidays and the range of hotels that it offers on the basis that its website ( should be a place where customers can search for a great value all-inclusive holiday rather than a cheap one.
