Orlando, FL (PRWEB) October 24, 2012

The Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) Youth Foundation named Robin McKee Parker as this year's winner of the Youth First Award. Each year, this award recognizes a leader in the student travel industry who demonstrates a commitment to enriching students' lives through travel as well as contributing to the advancement of the student travel industry through volunteer activities, community services and education. The award was presented to Ms. Parker during the annual SYTA convention held in Nashville, Tennessee on August 26, 2012.

Ms. Parker was awarded the Youth First Award for demonstrating excellence in meeting requirements including contributing to the SYTA Youth Foundation by means of volunteering many hours at SYTA conferences; performing community service with youth and student groups throughout the 2011 – 2012 year; and contributing to student/youth travel tourism education. Over the past year, Ms. Parker has financially assisted many students via the Kaleidoscope Adventures Stellar Student Scholarship program, providing scholarships to students who are either unable to afford the entire cost of their school trip or are model students who go above and beyond the call of duty to make the world a better place. Furthermore, she advocates travel as essential to a complete education and has provided community service to youth throughout the Orlando area.

According to Carylann Assante, Executive Director of SYTA and the SYTA Youth Foundation, “The SYTA Youth Foundation is very excited for Robin to receive this year's Youth First Award. Robin has consistently demonstrated through her long standing personal and professional commitment to enhancing young people's education through travel and by always giving back to the industry she loves. We could not be happier for her to receive this honor.”

The SYTA Youth Foundation Board of Trustees evaluated more than a dozen entries, narrowed the list down to three finalists and selected Ms. Parker as the winner.

“I am honored to be the recipient of this prestigious award and look forward to continuing my efforts to enrich students' lives and enhance the student travel industry. I am also proud to be a member of SYTA, the leading student travel industry association for North America,” said Robin McKee Parker.

Greg Dotson nominated Robin for this Award.
