Nursery Furniture Manufacturer Argington Comments on Child Care Facility's Push to Make Menu 100% Organic
Argington comments on a day care center's movement to supply children with a menu that is 100% organic as part of the children's daily care.
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 24, 2012
On October 24, nursery furniture manufacturer Argington comments on the organic menu developed by The Learning Tree, a child care center located in Michigan, whose owner Carol Gatewood is aiming to provide a 100% organic menu.
As reported by LivingstonDaily.com, “The Learning Tree…sees meals, dished up with reusable serveware, as an extension of its lesson plans.” According to Regional Director Karen Ballard, “We really believe in reaching the whole child…Not just teaching them their ABCs and 1-2-3s." The children at the Learning Tree “are engaged with their food from the time seeds are planted to the time it meets their lips. Each March, children decide what they want to grow in their garden, and oftentimes, it's ingredients to prepare pizza,” The Livingston Daily reports. In addition, on their birthdays a child “helps to make a special fruit smoothie with organic ingredients provided by The Learning Tree instead of parents bringing in outside sugary snacks.”
Argington, as a maker of nursery furniture, understands just how important organic food is and why it's essential to begin the process early in life. Company representative Clay Darrohn says, “Here at Argington, we don't just use words like organic, eco-friendly and sustainable to get people's attention. We genuinely believe in these ideals, which is why we sell beds that are made from sustainable materials, why we use eco-friendly finishes on our furniture and why our bedding is made from 100% organic cotton. Organic is more than a trend. It's a lifestyle choice that declares your intentions to live a healthy lifestyle and the younger children learn these valuable lessons, the healthier they will be.”
According to the article, the move towards an organic menu has been several years in the making. The article states that The Learning Tree has been planning this “since 2009, and cut costs in other areas to prevent tuition increases.”
Argington is a New York based manufacturer of fine baby furniture and nursery bedding. Proudly offering sustainable products that are organic or eco-friendly, Argington's products are also designed with mobility and multiple uses in mind to make parents' lives easier.
