Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) October 24, 2012
The reasons for a change in a housing situation may be varied and far-reaching – divorce, death of a parent or a new job – but JP Rogers of Northern Tampa, Fla., is available to guide his neighbors through the process. Rogers recently launched his Caring Transitions franchise to bring relocation, downsizing and estate sales services to Pasco County and its surrounding communities.
“This was my opportunity to provide for my family and give back to the community all while fulfilling a lifelong dream of building my own company,” Rogers said. “People are going through a rough spot in their lives. Whether planned or not, it's a rough spot. For me, if I can turn that into a positive experience, or at least bring a smile to someone's face by putting their items back in place in a new house, or giving them money back from their estate sale, then I feel like I've done my job.”
According to Ray Rofkar, director of operations for Caring Transitions, most franchise owners have a deep-rooted desire to help people and are sensitive to the situations that clients are experiencing in their lives.
“The strength of Caring Transitions is that we can help with any or all phases of a transitional change,” he said. “We can handle all facets of a situation or augment other providers to fill in gaps that they may not cover. We strive to give everyone a tailored, customized plan to deal with his or her unique situation.”
Prior to opening his Caring Transitions franchise, Rogers spent eight years as a global project manager for the Procter & Gamble Co., working remotely from a home office. When P&G indicated the company soon would be downsizing and offered severance packages for qualified employees, the father of four seized the opportunity to shift careers.
He and his wife, Lisa, researched and explored business opportunities that meshed with his understanding of global and local business practices and marketing techniques. Caring Transitions ultimately came to the forefront thanks to its high potential coupled with a low start-up cost and franchise support.
“Caring Transitions franchise owners are backed by a variety of services designed to support their clients and provide a comprehensive solution to their challenges,” Rofkar said. “We offer a unique online selling platform, localized website template and support, reduced rates with national partners, online training modules, and a dedicated, professional corporate support team.”
With three new hires now on board, Rodgers is putting his marketing savvy to good use, working in tandem with Realtors and elder care professionals to establish new clients. “Those who often see people going through these life changes are the ones who can refer you,” he said.
Above all, communication and sensitivity are critical throughout the entire process, he said. “The goal of this is to take stress off the family, not add to it.”
After receiving the initial call, Rogers sets up a consultation with clients – ensuring key decision-makers in the loop – to ascertain exactly what services are needed. A tour of the home includes taking measurements and photos – both overviews of the rooms and close-ups of individual items for online sales. Afterwards, Rogers provides a detailed estimate along with a prepared contract. He and his employees begin the tasks at hand, perhaps cleaning a home to prepare it for sale, coordinating with movers, or sifting through years' worth of belongings.
“When I was working remotely, I noticed a separation between myself, the community and my career aspirations. I wanted to get plugged in again, so to speak,” Rogers said. “This is a good way to give back.”
