The brand new 135W electric sheet sander from ROK & Toolbox has come under some heavy fire from some of the top tool experts but has survived with no wounds at all. The reviews on this product were extremely praising and as such Toolbox have dropped the price for a set period of time.

Evesham, Worcestershire (PRWEB UK) 24 October 2012

Over the last few months, (one of the largest online retailers of power tools & accessories) has seen a lot of success from the newly launched ROK branded tool range. The range consists of a variety of cordless/electric sanders, drills, grinders and saws; so there is definitely a lot of scope for people to try out the tools.

Over the past month or two, Toolbox have been nice enough to send the tools out to some well regarded tool enthusiast magazines and experts in the industry to get honest and unbiased feedback on the tool range. This week sees the ROK 135W electric sander come under scrutiny as it's tested for reliability, usability and a whole host of other characteristics.

This review is just one of several that have been left and published on the Toolbox page; an extract has been quoted below to give readers a taste of what this tool is all about...

“The ROK RPSS135 is a no-frills 1/3 sheet, single speed model powered by a 135W motor that generates 10,000 orbits a minute. The abrasive is clamped to the baseplate with two simple and positive levers, one for each end, that hold the paper securely in use. A two-metre power cable gives a reasonable radius of use if you're not using an extension lead.

“For prolonged use, there's a lock-on switch that fixes the trigger in the ‘on' position, while a small front handle makes two-handed use more comfortable.

“So, no big surprises there. The ROK follows standard orbital sander practice and is none the worse for it. It's light and easy to handle, surprisingly quiet, and produced good results on wood or paintwork. Even though the motor isn't that big, it didn't slow up too much when leant on hard.”

The entire review can be found on the Toolbox blog along with a whole variety of other reviews, news and information.

Due to the increased traffic to these ROK products thanks to the exposure in magazines, blogs and other online sources; Toolbox has decided to slash the price for several weeks. Scott Morris, E-Commerce Manager added: “It makes sense to drop the price whilst we're getting all this activity; for a start it will encourage people to buy this product and test it out. When they see what good value for money it is they might be inclined to come back and buy other ROK products and spread the word – that's our aim with this range of tools!”

The toolbox website is currently situated on the Online Home Retail network which at present hosts around 50 websites. These sites sell everything from ELHO water butts and hanging baskets to basin taps and a variety of other bathroom accessories. Online Home Retail Limited first started out as Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a major rebrand in 2012. The business now employs 60 people in its purpose built warehouse/offices and has a total turnover nearing £25 million per year.
