America's Leading Employers Come Together to Hire Veterans with Disabilities

Veteran Recruiting Services and ON24 deliver groundbreaking virtual career fair

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 24, 2012

Veteran Recruiting Services, the market leader for virtual career fairs for the military community, joins forces with ON24, and dozens of America's leading employers to help veterans with service related disabilities find employment opportunities in the VRS virtual career fair which will take place on October 31st from 1-4PM EST.

“October as proclaimed by President Obama is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and we are proud to support this by hosting the first virtual career fair for veterans with service related disabilities. Through our virtual recruitment center, employers and veterans are able to connect in real time without the cost, burden, or environmental impact typically associated with more traditional recruiting events," said Kevin O'Brien, managing partner Veteran Recruiting Services

The virtual career fair provides an opportunity for veterans to explore available jobs with the employers who will participate by visiting their virtual booths. In each employer's booth, the veteran can also chat live with recruiters, and learn about who the company is, what they have to offer, and why they should consider joining them.

Similar events hosted by the VRS team for the military community have resulted in more than 12,000 veterans finding employment with hundreds of America's biggest and best companies. Each employer has a customized virtual booth that includes; a video on their company, logo, links to their website, career page, social media integration, and the ability to host follow up live video interviews.

“ON24 is proud to provide the virtual communications platform on which the Virtual Career Fair for Veterans with Disabilities is based,” said ON24 Vice President and CMO Denise Persson. “This event is leveraging the power and capabilities of technology to reduce unemployment in a segment, veterans with service-related disabilities, where it's highest. A virtual job fair is all about reach and access—open to everyone, everywhere. This sort of experience just can't be duplicated at a traditional job fair.”

Some of the key employers who will participate in the virtual career fair include: Amtrak, Convergys, Lowe's, ManTech, Intuit, Exelon, Medtronic, U.S Department of Treasury, TSA, Waste Management, Wellpoint, and Xerox Business Services
