Gun Salute to Mark the Change of Command of the Chief of the Defence Staff

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 25, 2012) - There will be a 21-Gun Salute on Monday, October 29th 2012 at 9 a.m. at LeBreton Flats near the Canadian War Museum, 1 Vimy Place, Ottawa.

The 21-Gun salute is the firing of 21 rounds of blank ammunition in 10-second intervals. This salute is scheduled to begin at approximately 9 a.m. and will last for approximately four minutes. Residents are advised that this is purely ceremonial in nature and that at no time will safety or security be in jeopardy.
