MAP International Selects Agresso to Integrate Global Operations and Allow for Growth and Flexibility

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA and MANCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE--(Marketwire - Oct. 24, 2012) - UNIT4 Business Software (EURONEXT AMSTERDAM:UNIT4), the North American subsidiary of UNIT4, the global business software group, has signed a significant agreement to provide MAP International with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution to help them adapt to business changes and bring all global processing together into a single, integrated environment. Agresso Business World will replace a number of legacy systems that were heavily customized for MAP's unique requirements and had been pushed well beyond their limits. As MAP's program and processes changed, they found they were unable to make changes and adapt to new opportunities without creating significant manual processes or employing external systems. This introduced inefficiencies and limited the ability to launch new types of projects required to access new revenue opportunities and better deliver on its mission.

MAP International's mission is to promote the Total Health of people living in the world's poorest communities by partnering to provide essential medicine, promote community health development, and to prevent and mitigate disease, disaster and other health threats.

MAP's extensive customizations to their legacy system were augmented by a web of disparate databases and up to 30 other external systems supporting daily operations. While MAP was committed to full disclosure and enjoyed Charity Navigator's highest rating on transparency and accountability, it was becoming increasingly difficult to fulfill that commitment with so many non-integrated systems. Likewise, new types of projects were difficult to undertake because their applications could not support new, changing business models, and that limited revenue and program channels available to MAP.

"With Agresso, we feel we will be able to bring information from our eleven offices around the globe into a single system and be confident we are all looking at one single version of the truth with a reliable audit trail," states Dennis Rice, CIO of MAP. "We can also confidently take on new projects with new requirements because of the flexibility of Agresso to support them. For example, MAP currently has a third party contract to store and distribute USAID supplies for endemic and pandemic threats. It is a contract warehousing agreement leveraging our technical expertise in global supply chain management that is outside our normal systems model but we will be able to accommodate that in Agresso," he adds. "We were over two years in our selection of a new ERP system and another key deciding factor was UNIT4's implementation methodology. It aligns nicely with our own internal change execution processes, which gives us confidence the project will be a success. Also, their knowledge transfer philosophy will ensure our own people will be fully trained and in full control of the system, even after go-live," Rice continues.

MAP joins UNIT4 Business Software's growing list of non-profit customers. "Non-profits tell us they like Agresso's agility after go-live, because they can respond to changing requirements and take advantage of new opportunities without incurring costly overhead," says Shelley Zapp president of UNIT4 Business Software. "Transparency and accountability are critical to these organizations, and Agresso helps them deliver and prove their stewardship of funds - even during periods of change and upheaval," she adds.
