Bixby was a volunteer to the tournament for more than 20 years and became part of the executive committee last 2005.

Aside from the bowl games, everyone is encouraged to join the public tailgate, which is scheduled on the same day, January 1, in Lot H found at the south side of Rose Bowl stadium. Its scheduled to begin at 8 in the morning. Theres also a kick-off luncheon on December 31 in the stadium with free parking. A day before that will be the induction ceremony of the Hall of Famers. This will be held in Pasadena Convention Center, while Lawrys Beef Bowl will be held on December 2728 in Lawrys the Prime Rib.

Its a tradition that Rose Bowl happens during the first day of the new year. However, if it falls on a Sunday, the tournament will be scheduled on the next day, Monday.
