Cambridge Launches eSignature Program and New Website for Independent Financial Advisors and Their Clients
Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. (Cambridge) announced it is launching a new eSignature program for use with clients by its independent financial advisors. Partnering with DocuSign, Cambridge is rolling out an electronic signature option compatible with most desktop and mobile devices used by rep-advisors and their clients. Amy Webber, President and Chief Operating Officer, introduced the new technology by presenting each Cambridge advisor with a new Stylus pen at Cambridge's 2012 Ignite conference in downtown Chicago.
“Electronic signature is still fairly new across the financial services industry, but very appealing in our mobile society as a convenience for independent advisors and their clients,” said Webber. “We are excited to be an early adopter among independent broker-dealers and are eagerly working with custodian and vendor partners to maximize the scope of electronic signature options available to our advisors and their clients.”
Cambridge is offering eSignature at no charge as a new added value component of its complete technology solution for advisors.
During her annual President's welcome session at Ignite, Webber also highlighted the firm's new website which includes new public facing content, expanded functionality, and customizable tools designed specifically for Cambridge advisors. The transition to the new website began as hundreds of Cambridge advisors, executives, and staff gathered at the House of Blues for the closing gala event for the Ignite conference.
“In contrast to many websites designed according to a company's organizational structure, we embraced user-centered design in order to create a new website focused on optimizing the experience for our advisors as they use these web-based tools and resources in their businesses,” said Webber.
Cambridge engaged national and industry experts in user-centered website design to conduct focus groups and studies directly with Cambridge advisors resulting in the innovative, user-friendly information architecture serving as the structure for the member-only portion of the website. Future advisor-focused studies are planned to further optimize ease of navigation and expand functionality.
Largest Conference to Date
The announcement of eSignature and the new Cambridge website was made to a record-breaking 1,400 conference attendees. Nearly 1,000 of those attendees were Cambridge advisors who gathered at the Chicago Downtown Marriott to share best practices and collaborate with Cambridge executives. For the first time, a mobile app was made available to attendees to help them create personalized schedules from the 79 breakout sessions, 7 keynote speeches, and 80 sponsor and vendors in attendance.
