Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies to volunteer at the Miles For Hope: Moving Towards a Cure for Brain Tumors 5k walk/run event in Denver, Colorado

Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) April 13, 2012

Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees and Smoothies is honored to be volunteering at the 3rd annual Moving Towards a Cure for Brain Tumors Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Sloan's Lake Park in Denver, Colorado. The family friendly 5k run/walk, which starts at 10:00 a.m. is sponsored by the non-profit organization Miles For Hope and aims to bring awareness and support to those who have lost their lives to brain tumors or who are currently battling the disease in order to help find a cure.

Holli Gallaher, Director of Operations for Maui Wowi Hawaiian will be a volunteer at the event and says this is something that everyone should get involved in. “It's very important to be a part of our community and support a good and worthy cause like Miles For Hope,” she said. “Thousands of people are affected by this disease and the more awareness that can be brought to it to help find a cure, the better. Maui Wowi is a strong advocate of giving back and we are proud to be involved in this fundraising event,” said Gallaher.

Maui Wowi Hawaiian, a Denver based franchise company that serves all-natural smoothies and Hawaiian coffees, will be donating six gift baskets full of products that range from gourmet island coffees to Maui Wowi apparel and everything in between. The baskets will be part of a raffle giveaway. Proceeds from the event will go to Miles For Hope, which is also donating 50% of the net proceeds to benefit Children's Hospital Colorado's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) neuro-oncology program for brain tumor research.

Miles For Hope works towards raising awareness and finding a cure for brain tumors, the #1 cause of solid tumor cancer death in children under the age of 20, according to their website. With the help of their sponsors and volunteers like Maui Wowi, they hope to raise money that will assist in the development of vaccines and other treatments for this life threatening disease.

If you have not already registered, you can still register at Sloan's Lake Park the day of the event. Volunteers will be there to assist you.
