Goodrich to Display Advanced Marine Composite Products and Acoustic Materials at Key Industry Trade Gathering

-- Presence at the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition follows milestone product delivery

PR Newswire

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Goodrich Corporation GR will display its advanced marine composite products and acoustic materials at the Navy League's annual Sea-Air-Space Exposition at National Harbor, Md. April 16-18. The exposition brings the U.S. defense industrial base, private-sector U.S. companies and key military decision makers together for an annual innovative, educational, professional and maritime-based event.

Goodrich's Engineered Polymer Products (EPP) business in Jacksonville, Fla. delivered its 336th sonar dome rubber window (SDRW) to the U.S. Navy on Jan 9, 2012. EPP, part of Goodrich's Aerostructures business, has been the exclusive supplier of sonar domes to a variety of U.S. Navy and allied navy vessels for more than 40 years. SDRWs are acoustically transparent housings that, along with sonar transducer arrays, make up the sensor portion of a ship's sonar system. EPP's sonar domes and acoustic windows are some of a ship's most durable components. Currently, there are EPP sonar domes on U.S. Navy vessels that are at least 20 years old.

"We have a long history of innovation in building quality components that support anti-submarine warfare capabilities for the U.S. Navy's surface fleet," said James Pollock, Goodrich Aerostructures vice president of military programs. "For more than 10 years, we have been a part of the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space Exposition, and we look forward to renewing business relationships and establishing new ones."

EPP, which celebrated its 25th year of operation in its current Jacksonville location on Nov. 11, 2011, was named a 2011 Manufacturer of the Year by the Manufacturers Association of Florida (MAF) -- an advocacy organization focused on improving the business climate for manufacturers in Florida.

Goodrich's Engineered Polymer Products team specializes in developing, manufacturing, testing and servicing acoustic and structural composite products. Its composite products are installed on a variety of Navy vessels and on commercial passenger aircraft.
