Brings Extensive Background in Contemporary Church Music Ministry to Rockland County Church

Monsey, NY (PRWEB) March 28, 2012

New Hope Christian Church announced today that KateLynne Hahn of Nyack and Ewing, New Jersey has been appointed as its new Worship Leader. Hahn, who is a member of the Rockland County church and a student in the nursing program at Nyack College, brings an extensive background in church musicianship and music ministry. As Worship Leader, Miss Hahn takes responsibility for contemporary music during the church service. Besides singing and playing piano or guitar, she also assumes leadership of the church's contemporary music group: Eileen Bakker of Sloatsburg, vocals; James Blacklock of Tuxedo, drums; Matt Muniz of Suffern, guitar; and Hannah Shipman of Nyack, vocals.

“My main goal is to bring a contemporary sound to the worship of New Hope in a way that not only accommodates the present state of the congregation, but also presses towards the future goals of growth and deeper discipleship,” said Hahn. “I love New Hope Christian Church, and I'm thankful to have the opportunity to glorify God and serve others in this role.”

“We're thrilled to have Katie taking charge of our contemporary worship music. She's a skillful musician, a thoughtful committed Christian, and a delightful person to be around,” said Phillip Dennis, the church's minister. “We have a fine grand piano and organ, so we have always had lovely traditional church music at New Hope, and now we have really high quality contemporary church music to worship God with.”

Hahn's first initiative as Worship Leader is a new Family Worship Night to be held monthly at the church, and open to the public. It will be an hour of singing for people of all ages and skill levels: kids' Sunday school songs, praise songs, classic hymns of the Christian faith, and contemporary worship music will all have a place on Family Worship Nights at the church. The first such Family Worship Night is scheduled for Sunday, April 29 at 6 p.m. at 57 Main Street, Monsey, New York. Everyone is invited, and parents are especially encouraged to bring their children.
