NORWOOD, Mass., March 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LTX-Credence Corporation LTXC, a global provider of market focused, cost-optimized ATE solutions, today announced its next generation RF solution, DragonRF.

DragonRF delivers high performance RF test capability for the complete spectrum of connectivity and mobility standards while offering new levels of manufacturing test efficiencies. Whether it's an RF power amplifier or an RF ASSP application, DragonRF delivers an extensive suite of new capabilities designed to provide the lowest cost of test without any compromise in RF test performance. DragonRF includes the following enhanced capabilities:

  • Universal RF ports with optional Port to Pin adapter enabling configurations up to 128 RF pins
  • Innovative flexible architecture enables lower priced configurations without sacrificing test coverage or test time
  • Latest RF switching technology provides industry leading settling times
  • Compact RF generators use less power and space than competitive offerings
  • Available across a range of LTXC test platforms thus ensuring the most cost effective test capability no matter the end applications
  • Available with Unison – the new LTXC cross-platform test system software

"The launch of the DragonRF provides our customers with a complete test solution for all of their next generation RF devices. Unlike other RF test solutions available in the market, DragonRF has been designed to work across multiple test platforms. This is key to reducing the overall cost of test to the RF semiconductor market," said Steve Wigley, vice president of marketing at LTX-Credence. "RF functionality is being designed into a broad range of devices. In some cases these devices are standalone RF devices such as power amplifiers, while others are integrating RF with large digital and analog transistor counts," continued Mr. Wigley. "If we had taken a 'single platform fits all' approach, we would not have been able to hit the aggressive test cost targets demanded by the RF market. While DragonRF provides a complete suite of RF test capability for all mobility applications, its' unique ability to be configured on different LTXC test platforms delivers the lowest cost of test for the broadest range of RF applications."

About DragonRF

DragonRF can be configured with 16, or 32 universal vector RF ports per module, with an optional port to pin expander doubling the number of RF ports to 64 pins. Further, the architecture allows up to two DragonRF instruments to be configured taking the maximum available RF pins up to 128. DragonRF provides 6GHz modulated source, 8GHz measure, less than 1ms settling time, and up to 8 receiver paths each with an analog bandwidth exceeding 200MHz for octal site parallel RF measurements. Leveraging the extensive LTXC wireless modulation and demodulation library, DragonRF comes with the complete set of tools to test the entire cellular and connectivity devices including 802.11a,b,g,n,ac and p, BT, BT EDR and BT4.0, GPS, GSM, Edge, GPRS, HSDPA, HSUPA, CDMA, LTE, and other existing or emerging standards. All of these features provide the users with faster single site testing, greater than 95% efficiency on multi-site testing, and flexible system configuration to match the cost with the users' testing requirement. DragonRF will be available for volume shipments in the 2nd calendar quarter of 2012.
