GLENDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Thunderbird School of Global Management has again been recognized as the No. 1 business school in the “International” MBA program specialty by U.S. News & World Report. This is the 17th consecutive year Thunderbird has earned this distinction, and it marks the school's second top ranking by leading publications since the beginning of this year.

Thunderbird was ranked No. 1 in International Business by the Financial Times in its annual worldwide ranking of full-time MBA programs in January 2012. The school's extensive alumni network was recognized in 2011 when The Economist ranked Thunderbird No. 1 for “Internationalism of Alumni.” Thunderbird's Executive MBA program is also top-ranked, placing third in The Wall Street Journal's most recent global rankings of Executive MBA programs.

“Thunderbird's top rankings in these publications recognize our expertise in developing leaders who can successfully navigate a complex, interconnected global economy. Our graduates develop a unique combination of business skills, global mindset and social responsibility that truly sets them apart in the world of management,” said Thunderbird President Ángel Cabrera, Ph.D.

U.S. News & World Report's 2013 edition of “Best Graduate Schools” will be available on newsstands April 3. The international specialty rankings in this year's guidebook were determined by a survey of business school deans and MBA program directors who nominated the top 10 programs in 12 specialty areas.

For 2013, the top 10 schools of business in the “International” specialization are:

1. Thunderbird School of Global Management (AZ)
2. Univ. of Pennsylvania (Wharton)
3. University of South Carolina (Moore)
4. University of Michigan–Ann Arbor (Ross)
5. Columbia University (NY)
6. New York University (Stern)
7. U. of Southern California (Marshall)
