On March 12, 2012, the companies announced the definitive merger agreement under which ZOLL would be acquired by Asahi Kasei, in a transaction valued at approximately $2.21 billion. Under the terms of the agreement, ZOLL stockholders will receive $93.00 in cash for each share of ZOLL common stock held. According to Thompson/First Call, at least one analyst has set a price target of $100.00 per share for ZOLL's stock.
