DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Just weeks after announcing its New Michigan strategy as part of the 2012 Michigan Turnaround Plan (MTP), Business Leaders for Michigan (BLM), the state's business roundtable, is asking: What does the New Michigan look like to you?

In an online contest, BLM is offering $1,000 in total prizes to Michigan residents who upload a photo or a short video, or enter a written submission (200 words or less) describing their vision for the New Michigan.

“The New Michigan Sweepstakes is a fun way to encourage Michigan citizens to think about our state's future and become educated about and involved in advancing the New Michigan strategy- a key component of the Michigan Turnaround Plan,” said Doug Rothwell, BLM President and CEO.

BLM's New Michigan strategy identifies growth opportunities with the highest-potential over the next ten years to grow thousands of good paying jobs quickly. By focusing on these unique Michigan assets, we can add up to half a million jobs and boost the personal income of each Michigan resident by as much as $18,000.

To enter the sweepstakes, participants must be Michigan residents and 18 years of age or older. All participants must complete the online registration form located on the Michigan Turnaround Plan Facebook page (www.facebook.com/michiganturnaroundplan). All submissions must be received by midnight, April 20, 2012. Winners will be chosen in a random drawing. One first place winner will receive a $500 VISA gift card, and five second-place winners will each receive $100 VISA gift cards.
