EatItalian.com, the online community for lovers of Italian cuisine teams up with Paul Borghese of Tappan Films, to release the original series, Dinner with the FoodFellas: An Invitation You Can't Refuse!, a free-form, non-scripted celebrity reality show. Season one will debut in conjunction with a kick-off event at Mohegan Sun Casino at Pocono Downs on February 18th. The series will be aired exclusively on EatItalian.com with season one celebrity guests Lorraine Brocco, Anthony Michael Hall, Emily Frances and many others. The webisodes can be viewed at http://www.eatitalian.com/feature/67332/dinner-foodfellas
Capitalizing on classics like GoodFellas, The Godfather and the monster hit, HBO's The Sopranos, the half-hour episodes are hosted by Tony Darrow, Vincent Pastore and Joe Gannascoli, three popular mob character actors of today. In every episode, the FoodFellas feed off their natural mix of street swagger and mobster bravado as they review different restaurants and experiment with various cuisines while dining with their various celebrity dinner guests. From famous New York restaurants (like the exclusive Rao's, the location of the pilot episode) to Miami's hot South Beach bistros, Dinner with the FoodFellas covers a wide range of foods and eateries around the country.
“We are thrilled that EatItalian.com is launching Dinner with the FoodFellas,” says show creator Paul Borghese. “EatItalian.com is the perfect fit for this one-of-a-kind series that will fill the audience's appetite for celebrities and inside scoop while delivering a unique twist on the popular talk show format. We anticipate great success in building a large audience of fans of the show, and the larger goal to eventually air this series on television”
“Dinner with the FoodFellas is the ideal series to premiere on our site,” says Alan Watts, Founder of EatItalian.com. “Not only will we be producing additional webisodes, but we'll also be hosting events with the cast and their celebrity friends. In fact, our first FoodFellas kick-off event will take place at the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on February 18, 2012.”
Tony Darrow, most recognizable for his role as “Sonny Bunz” in GoodFellas, agrees with both Borghese and Watts. “Dinner with the FoodFellas is a project that I am very proud of—and the fact that it will be featured on EatItalian.com makes perfect sense. We are all very excited to get this out to the public.” Vincent Pastore, best known for his role as “Salvatore Bonpansiero” on HBO's The Sopranos, concurs with his co-host, “The FoodFellas and Eatitalian.com are a great team and I look forward to growing and developing this original series.”
