San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) February 06, 2012

Our Lady of the Lake University announces that its Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program is now available in a completely online format, as well as the traditional classroom format. Designed to meet the needs of working students, the online MBA offers two options for specialization, Management and Healthcare Management. In the Management specialization, students study timely topics in the business management field, such as supply chain management and globalization, and apply what they have learned to the real world with case studies and presentations. The Healthcare Management specialization focuses on a growing sector of the U.S. economy, building a strong understanding of the specific business issues facing healthcare, such as finance, the impact of related policies and laws, and the management of healthcare facilities and organizations.

The MBA program incorporates personal faculty attention, practical applications of business theory and strategy, and a progressive approach that anticipates current and future organizational needs. In both tracks, students from varied backgrounds interact, adding their own valuable insights and viewpoints to online course discussions. Together with the broad range of classroom and professional experience of the OLLU faculty, the program works on multiple levels to prepare students for future success.

“Our Lady of the Lake University's Master of Business Administration has long been a beneficial program for our students, offering them hands-on experience and rich discussions on practical operations,” said Robert Bisking, Ph.D., dean of the School of Business and Leadership. “With the program online, we can offer our distance students the same educational experience as our on-campus students – real-world theory and applications that will help them find careers in high-demand fields. Both specializations, Management and Healthcare Management, provide our students with valuable business skills and knowledge to ensure they are successful and confident in their new careers.”

The online MBA program consists of 36 credit hours for completion, with 15 credit hours spent on the specialization. Students interested in applying for the MBA program must have a GPA of at least 2.5 for their undergraduate work, related undergraduate course work, and a satisfactory score on the Miller Analogies Test (MAT), Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT).

Students who lack the background or undergraduate degree in business typically required to begin pursuing an MBA don't need to take several expensive and time-consuming prerequisite courses. Instead, OLLU offers the MBA Boot Camp —one intensive class that prepares them with foundational business knowledge.
