EWS Wins Tire Technology "Environmental Achievement" Award

AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 16, 2012) - Environmental Waste International Inc. (EWS) (TSX VENTURE:EWS) is pleased to announce that it has received the Tire Technology International Award for Innovation and Excellence 2012 in the category of Environmental Achievement. The award selection and presentation was organized and sponsored by Tire Technology International magazine. The presentation was held on February 15, 2012 before over 500 tire industry professionals attending the Tire Technology Expo in Cologne, Germany.

"EWS is very proud to have been selected as this year's winner. It is very gratifying to have the Reverse Polymerization(TM) process and our tire recycling system receive this recognition. We are truly honoured to have been selected by the distinguished group of judges representing the tire industry," stated Stephen Simms, EWS President.

The TR900 pilot plant in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, showcases the patented EWS process and tire recycling system. The TR900 is able to recover and separate carbon black, oil and steel, from tires while using the remaining gases as a fuel for power generation.
