Global Financial Institution Selects Global Telecom & Technology for High Performance Private IP Connectivity Services

Global Telecom & Technology, Inc. (“GTT”) GTLT, a global network operator delivering managed data services to large enterprise, government and carrier customers in over 80 countries worldwide, announced today that a major financial institution, specializing in electronic payments and transaction processing, has selected GTT to deliver a bespoke Corporate IP network infrastructure to connect trading divisions and their customers, on a multi-year contract.

A key requirement was for a single network service provider to be able to support sites across Western and Central Europe and the US. By utilizing the Network as a Service proposition, GTT is able to deliver high bandwidth local Ethernet tails into the corporate offices and interconnect them using the GTT robust and fully redundant core network footprint that covers Europe and the US. GTT designed a VPLS solution across the corporate estate, allowing all sites to share centralized resources in a timely and efficient manner, through the creation of a private Cloud infrastructure. Access to resources outside of the private network, and for incoming Internet generated transactions, is delivered by deploying GTT Performance IP from core nodes. As such GTT is able to deliver seamless end-to-end connectivity by integrating and managing a complete network solution.

The confidential nature of the financial transactions undertaken across the network infrastructure makes security an absolute key component of the solution. An end-to-end Layer 2 Ethernet solution is inherently private in nature and allows Enterprises full control of their networking and routing decisions. The ability to ensure data integrity and fully manage processes is critical in the increasingly regulated corporate environment, and the Layer 2 VPLS solution provides that control.
