Joan Saez, owner of Organic Soap and Spa says that "In 2005, I was determined to stop using harsh chemical and preservatives that caused constant skin irritation, dryness and rashes on my body. Through research I learned the sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), a chemical originally developed as an engine degreaser, formaldehyde, skin irritants and pesticides were common ingredients in even supposedly “natural” body care products. Even a best-selling baby shampoo contains several known carcinogens and FD&C colors that the FDA has issued warnings against.

A small, handmade batch of soap is about 20 pounds of soap, and though my family and I loved whatever I was working on, I found myself with an excess of certain soaps so I started Organic Soap and Spa, LLC (OSAS) and began selling soap on the web (http://www.organicsoapandspa.com) in 2006. The soap sold quickly, so I kept coming up with new formulas and combinations. Organic Soap and Spa now offers 150 varieties of organic bath and body products including bath and facial soaps, body butters, lotions, hand creams, sugar scrubs, salt scrubs, Dead Sea soaking salts, novelty soaps for children and shampoos for adults and babies – even organic soap for dogs!"

Organic Soap and Spa has been experiencing tremendous growth in their retail stores in Estes Park and Fort Collins, CO as well as on their online store at http://www.organicsoapandspa.com. Sales have been increasing rapidly even during these tough economic times - so much so that they recently entered into a sponsorship agreement with The Denver Broncos NFL football club, Crush - the official women's fan club of The Broncos and with The Denver Broncos Cheerleaders.
