BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Harvard Business School (HBS) will offer Leadership in Financial Organizations, a new executive education program for senior executives of global financial institutions. The program will take place in England (February 13–16, 2012) and at Harvard Business School in Boston on July 9-12, 2012. Identical sessions will also be offered in India (February 11–14, 2013) and China (July 22–25, 2013).

“The financial industry's ongoing uncertainty in the wake of the economic crisis has presented leaders with a new set of challenges, including stricter regulation and the public's expectation for greater transparency,” said David Yoffie, professor of international business administration, senior associate dean and chair of Executive Education at HBS. “This program, presented in four of the world's leading economic centers, explores the critical leadership challenges facing today's financial institutions.”

Executives will study key leadership topics such as risk management, talent management and team leadership. Led by accomplished experts in the financial industry, Leadership in Financial Organizations will offer participants an opportunity to discuss the latest research and best practices and then apply what they have learned when they return to their organizations.

“Through this program, we will address issues that are essential to success for leaders of teams and organizations in the financial industry,” said Boris Groysberg, professor of business administration and faculty co-chair of Leadership in Financial Organizations. “Because the same curriculum and framework are used in all four program venues, employees who work for one organization but in different regions of the world will develop a common leadership language—no matter where they work or attend.”

The program is based on a framework of global case studies focused exclusively on the financial industry as well as lectures, instructive exercises and surveys. Interacting with peers from around the world, participants will build global relationships that provide value long after the program's conclusion. Typical attendees include managing directors and other high-level executives from global companies across the financial industry, including insurance companies, investment and commercial banks, asset management firms, hedge funds, private equity firms and mutual fund companies.
