Pall Corporation (NYSE:PLL), a global leader in filtration, separation and purification, today was honored by the Women's Forum of New York for its gender diverse board of directors. The company was recognized with a Corporate Champions Award at the organization's 2011 Breakfast of Corporate Champions event held at the New York Stock Exchange. "The Corporate Champions Award celebrates companies that demonstrate the strategic importance of women to their business through their participation in the boardroom,” says Janice Reals Ellig, president, Women's Forum of New York. “All of the honored companies are achieving positive change at the highest business level.”

Among the directors on Pall's board are three prominent women: Katharine L. Plourde, Cheryl W. Grisé, and Dr. Amy E. Alving.

Ms. Plourde, a Pall director since 1995, is the chair of Pall's nominating/governance committee and a member of the audit committee. Previously, she was a principal and analyst at the investment banking firm of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. In recognition of her work, she was just named to Institutional Investor's All-America Research Team Hall of Fame. One of only a handful of women to be included on the list of hall of famers, Ms. Plourde achieved the honor for being a ten-time, first-teamer in the annual rankings. The rankings are considered the benchmark for excellence by which analysts and research groups are measured. Since 2002, Ms. Plourde also has served on the board of OM Group Inc.

Ms. Grisé, a Pall director since 2007, is a member of the audit committee and has served as the chair of the compensation committee since 2009. She was executive vice president of Northeast Utilities until her retirement in July 2007 and also has served as president for the company's Utility Group and chief executive officer of all Northeast Utilities operating subsidiaries. Currently, she serves on the boards of Pulte Group, Inc. and MetLife Inc., where she is lead director. She also is a member of the California State Bar Association. Ms. Grisé was recently named to the Directorship 100 by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). The Directorship 100 represents NACD's assessment of the 100 most influential people in the boardroom community.

Dr. Alving is the chief technology officer and a senior vice president at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), an approximately $11 billion scientific, engineering, and technology applications company. She has been a director of Pall since 2010 and is a member of the nominating/governance committee. Dr. Alving also has been a member or advisor to the Army Science Board, Naval Research Advisory Committee, Defense Science Board and National Academies Studies. She is currently a member of the Georgia Tech Advisory Board and the Council on Foreign Relations.

“We are truly honored to be recognized for our diverse board,” said Larry Kingsley, Pall CEO and president. “Pall is committed to achieving diversity at every level within the organization, including executive management. Having varied perspectives and experiences can diversify a company's business point of view and is key to long-term success.”

Pall also has two women among its five-member Executive Management Team (EMT). The company's CFO, Lisa McDermott, has held that position since 2006. During her tenure as CFO, Ms. McDermott has been a key figure in Pall Corporation's continued development and growth. Linda Villa, Pall's chief human resources officer, is an accomplished human resources executive known for her ability to align human resources strategy with overall business strategy.
