Jericho, NY (PRWEB) August 02, 2011

The statistics are staggering. Nearly 13% (9.8 million) of children under the age of 21are diagnosed with a developmental disability, including autism, cerebral palsy, speech/language disorder and down syndrome. Those diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) alone top 730,000 in the United States! As the numbers of those diagnosed steadily rise, the focus over the past decade has been on determining a cause and reversing the tide. What do we know to be true about disabilities and what is mere speculation? How can we help families, educators, specialists and those with special needs learn, share and develop a true sense of community support?
