Branded QR codes a Smart Investment for Valencia Group Hotels
Valencia Group Hotels begin using branded QR codes to target customers with smart phones

Houston-based Valencia Group, which owns hotels that are equal parts classic and hip, is leading the way with branded QR codes. All three locations which include Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio TX, Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE in Houston, TX and Hotel Valencia Santana Row in San Jose, CA will have custom branded QR codes.
Research has shown that branded QR codes are clicked 25-30% more than traditional black and white codes. The Valencia Group will use these unique codes in their marketing and advertising endeavors and is hoping that each of their existing brands will grow from these efforts.
When scanned with a smart phone these branded QR codes will take consumers to additional information that is targeted and specific. Whether that is a special weekend rate, information on their world class restaurants or another aspect the hotel wants to advertise.

QR codes began in Japan and were initially used for tracking parts in vehicle manufacturing. They found their way to the U.S years later as a marketing tool. With smart phones becoming increasingly popular we have only seen the beginning of QR code uses in the U.S.
