Tecore Announces Multi-Band 3G NIB

COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Tecore Networks, a global supplier of multi-technology mobile network infrastructure, today announced the award winning 3G Network In a Box (NIB) system is now available in configurations supporting the complete commercial 3G UMTS frequency bands.

The NIB can be delivered in a single band or be enabled with multi-band capability, allowing for simultaneous operations of both spectrums from a single platform. Alternatively, the 3G NIB can also support selective spectrum operation allowing the operator to enable or disable the frequencies based on the local spectrum access.

In addition to the added spectrum flexibility, the 3G NIB can also be enhanced to support 2G as well as 4G from the same platform. This patented architecture provides an unprecedented capability from a single platform.

The supported UMTS Bands on the 3G NIB include:

• Band 1 – (WCDMA 2100 (IMT))
• Band 2 – (WCDMA 1900 (PCS))
• Band 3 – (WCDMA 1800 (DCS))
• Band 4 – (WCDMA 1700 (AWS))
• Band 5 – (WCDMA 850 (Cellular))
• Band 8 – (WCDMA 900 (GSM))

Whether commercial, government, or military applications, the availability of these additional frequency options enhances the flexibility and applicability of the NIB solution. Existing networks can benefit and leverage the current 3G and 2G technologies of the platform while LTE can be deployed once the technology starts to realize its potential in the commercial marketplace.
