Media Advisory: Environment Ministers to Meet in Yellowknife

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - June 21, 2011) - The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment (CCME) will meet in Yellowknife, NWT on June 28, 2011 to discuss a range of issues including water, air quality and measures to reduce packaging.

The Council is made up of environment ministers from each of the provinces, territories and the Government of Canada. The current president of CCME, Hon. J. Michael Miltenberger, Northwest Territories Minister of Environment and Natural Resources, will chair the meeting, which will be held at the Explorer Hotel (Katimavik rooms A&B), 4825 49th Avenue, Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

There will be a photo opportunity for members of the media at 10:30 am, MDT. At the close of the meeting the Council will issue a communique and hold a news conference on Tuesday June 28, 4:00 pm MDT (6:00 pm EDT).
