CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

As part of its continuing mission to support all SAP customers, regardless of their specific data environment, the Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) announced today the creation of a new Board seat representing users of the SAP® BusinessObjects™ portfolio of solutions.

In preparation for this move, ASUG first merged the Global BusinessObjects Network (GBN) into its ranks at the end of 2009 – resulting in the world’s largest resource for all North American members of the SAP ecosystem. GBN was formed in October 2008 and grew to 3,000 members prior to the merger. The combined organization includes over 85,000 members in the United States and Canada.

“Given the tremendous expertise that resides in the SAP BusinessObjects customer base, and the community-level collaboration that is already happening within ASUG, the time was right to expand our governance model to further ensure all SAP customers are represented at the highest levels within ASUG,” said Anthony Bosco, vice chair of the ASUG Board of Directors and chairperson of the ASUG nomination committee. “We look forward to the launch of nominations next week and identifying the right Director for this pivotal role.”

“ASUG and SAP have a long history of working together to provide members with the ability to influence the direction of SAP solutions and services,” said John Schwarz, member of the Executive Board, SAP AG. “I look forward to working with the expanded ASUG Board to help ensure these opportunities are extended to customers in any application environment.”

ASUG Board nominations open on February 8. For more information about ASUG, visit www.asug.com.
