June 9, 2011 (FinancialWire) (By "The Political Prophet"(R)) -- Editor's note: Socio-political events and developments have a direct impact on the market. In the interest of providing shareholders and investors with a broad spectrum of information in regard to such potentially impactful occurrences, FinancialWire(tm) contributor, "The Political Prophet"(R), offers advanced insight with potential ramifications for virtually the entire market spectrum, perhaps best represented by bellwether-type ETFs such as the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE: XLV), the Market Vectors Agribusiness ETF (NYSE: MOO), the SPDR Gold Trust (NYSE: GLD), the iPath Goldman Sachs Crude Oil ETF (NYSE: OIL), the iShares Dow Jones US Real Estate ETF (NYSE: IYR), the PowerShares Global Progressive Transportation Portfolio ETF (NASDAQ: PTRP), the Claymore U.S. Capital Markets Bond ETF (NYSE: UBD), the Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE: XLK), the Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE: XLI) and the PowerShares DB US Dollar Index Bullish Fund (NYSE: UUP), to name just a few. To that end, here's the latest entry from FinancialWire contributor, "The Political Prophet"(R):

Two male members of the U.S. House of Representatives from New York State (one Republican and one Democrat) have been caught pathetically trying to solicit sex by distributing lewd photographs of themselves via the internet. They are (probably) sick and (definitely) stupid.

The Republican Congressman resigned immediately, and has already been replaced by a Democrat. The newly disgraced Democrat, Anthony Weiner (D-NY), is trying to hang on with the help of his Caucus Leader, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and party lackeys in the media like Chris Mathews. Pelosi, as orchestrated, called for an "Ethics Committee" investigation to determine whether or not a Congressman repeatedly admitting on national TV that he lied has any "ethical" ramifications. Go figure. Maybe that is part of the problem-she and her colleagues actually need an investigation to find out if lying is unethical.

Chris Mathews, the long term Democrat political hack who now appears on MSNBC-TV called Weiner's dirty pictures, phone sex with college girls and repeated lies nothing more than a "PR crisis". Chuck Todd, from the same network, called Weiner's bad behavior nothing more than a "PR nightmare". The fundamental import of the situation is lost on both media men for whom image is everything and substance doesn't count. These guys are so shallow they have to snorkel in the bathtub.

We Predict: American voters are not going to tolerate "business as usual" in Washington anymore. The very idea that people who have been elected to public service would openly wallow in this sleaze is crazy. The notion that they and their political/press supporters think they can not only do it but then get by with it is absolutely absurd.

Just when we think it can't get worse, a political science professor from NYU assesses the spectacle of Congressman Weiner by noting that, "it probably hurts his fundraising". No wonder so many of our bright young people are graduating from universities with no grasp of private or public priorities.

We Predict: Most Republicans in Washington will exercise sufficient self-discipline and will decline to comment on the Weiner scandal by noting, "That is a matter for Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and her team to handle at this time. If they fail to take the proper action, the entire House of Representatives will have to take the steps necessary to begin the restoration of American confidence in this institution and the values demonstrated by the actions of its members."

We Predict: If Pelosi stalls Weiner's departure with an "investigation", GOP leadership will demand that the inquiry include an examination of all government computers being used by female members of the Congress, the White House and other places where young women may have been victimized by obscenities from Weiner. The vision of Weiner's pictures being discovered in Pelosi's computer is too much to digest.

We Predict: Congressman Weiner, in spite of his "friends in high places," will be gone before the 2012 elections. Good riddance.
