America's Got Talent Features New Illusionist

NBC's America's Got Talent Features magician illusionist Michael Barron. Promises illusions never before seen on television.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) March 18, 2011

26 year old illusionist Michael Barron has been selected to be a featured act by the producers of NBC's runaway hit show "America's Got Talent."

After a short preliminary process, Michael was selected to perform live in front of the judges. Taping will begin March 22nd in Minneapolis. If Michael can clear the Minneapolis round, he will advance to Las Vegas and later Hollywood.

Barron will be presenting an original twist on a classic illusion that has never been performed on television before. Michael's lovely assistant Christina Stemmler will enter a menacing looking contraption and will subsequently be divided into separate pieces. The illusion also features a surprise ending that Barron refuses to divulge until the day of the shoot.

America's Got Talent, now in its sixth season, will feature talented performers from every corner of the nation. Singers, dancers, ventriloquists, magicians, and other variety acts all compete for the million dollar prize and a Las Vegas showroom contract.

"I'm not in it to win," says Barron. "It is unlikely that a magician will ever win the competition." Michael views the television appearance as a "golden opportunity" to be seen by millions of viewers at once. "It's a gigantic television audience, and a great opportunity to show the world what I can do."

Michael has been performing magic since he was 5 years old, having become "hooked" after his parents hired a magician for his birthday party. 21 years later, Michael is considered among the best in the world.

He is the winner of the International Brotherhood of Magicians' Golden Statue (magic's equivalent of the Oscar) and the Lance Burton Award of Excellence. With more than 4,000 performances and 50 television appearances in 19 countries, Michael is well on his way.

Most recently, Michael was approached to star in a major touring show produced by Kenneth Feld (Ringling Brothers Circus, Siegfried and Roy, Disney on Ice.) In 2009 and 2010 Michael toured South and Central America as the lead illusionist in Disney Live: Mickey's Magic Show.

Disney Live, featuring magic designed by Jim Steinmeyer (creator of David Copperfield's Statue of Liberty Vanish and many other famous illusions) is currently the largest touring family illusion show in the world.

Having finished his tour with Disney, Michael is hard at work creating bigger and better illusions to shock the American television audience. "If I move beyond the Minneapolis round, I need to be ready with the next greatest thing," says Barron. "It's time to shed the top hat and tails... America is ready for some new, creative magic... and I'm going to do my best to show it to them."

Michael Barron is available to perform his thrilling brand of illusion at large events nation wide. For booking information and for America's Got Talent updates, visit
