EMERYVILLE, CA--(Marketwired - August 29, 2017) - Leading industry experts will gather to discuss the current state of the mortgage industry at the Southern California Mortgage Leadership Roundtable on September 7, 2017 at the Ultimate Skybox in San Diego, CA. The free event is being hosted by National MI, a subsidiary of NMI Holdings, Inc. NMIH a California-based private mortgage insurer, along with Mortgage Capital Trading (MCT), a leading Capital Markets advisory firm focused on technology and services, and BKD, a national CPA and advisory firm.

Julie Jones, credit risk analyst at Fannie Mae, will provide an update on Fannie Mae's efforts to improve the quality of originations, while facilitating more efficient programs for lenders. Sam Luna, the Single Family Affordable Lending director at Freddie Mac, will provide an overview of Freddie Mac's Home Possible® program.

MCT's COO Philip Rasori will discuss secondary market strategies, including the operational benefits of hedging. Ryan Sailor, a director with BKD, will provide a presentation on "Internal Audit's Critical Role in Operational Excellence."

Kristin Messerli, founder of Cultural Outreach Solutions, will offer practical guidance on how lenders can reach currently untapped demographics in today's market. Cultural Outreach Solutions specializes in helping companies in the mortgage industry better reach and serve multi-generational and multi-cultural homebuyers.

Other speakers include Dana Wasson, senior manager for Accenture, who will discuss the challenges of working under CFPB and FHA oversight, and Gene O'Bryan, CEO of Solutions Lending Services, who will demonstrate ways in which lenders can use technology to grow their business.
