Sydney, Australia, March 31, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Heron Resources Limited ("Heron" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received its Environmental Protection Licence (No. 20841) (EPL) from the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) covering proposed construction, mining and processing activities at the Woodlawn Project site. This is the final licensing requirement prior to the commencement of construction activities at Woodlawn and is one of the key prerequisites to advance Woodlawn Project financing.

In relation to the Woodlawn Project the EPL covers:

  • the permitted activities;
  • management of site activities and their impact on the environment;
  • the setting of limits for water, noise, blasting, hours of operation and odour;
  • monitoring and recording requirements; and
  • reporting obligations to the EPA.

The requirements of the EPL are consistent with the project approval received under Section 75J of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 from the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure.

Attainment of the EPL is another positive step in the pre-construction activities to the Woodlawn Project.
