Versar, Inc. Joint Venture Announces $15.5m Award for Renovation of Building at Hanscom Air Force Base

SPRINGFIELD, VA / ACCESSWIRE / November 2, 2016 / Versar, Inc. (NYSE MKT: VSR) today announced that its long-term joint venture with Johnson Controls Federal Systems was awarded a $15.5 million design-build construction contract to repair and renovate building B1108 at Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB), located outside of Boston, MA. Building 1108 is a three-story structure enclosing 76,658 square feet and was constructed in 1952 as part of a complex of buildings within the base that is now known as the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratory Historic District. Once the renovations are completed, B1108 will house the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). The contract scope includes design, permitting, renovation, construction and commissioning for an administrative building to include office space, classrooms, and conference rooms. Versar's Engineering Construction Management (ECM) group will perform the work.
