MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

U.S. Cellular® USM customers in Wisconsin and Illinois enjoy the highest wireless network quality, according to the latest J.D. Power 2016 U.S. Wireless Network Quality Performance StudySM. U.S. Cellular has the "Highest Wireless Network Quality Performance in the North Central Region," and excels in most network areas, especially call quality and data quality.

"We monitor our network around the clock so when our customers make a call, send a message, check their email, share a photo or access the internet, they can rely on it," said Mike Irizarry, executive vice president and chief technology officer for U.S. Cellular. "We strive to deliver the best wireless experience to our customers with a fast 4G LTE network so they can stay connected to the people and information that is important to them whenever and wherever they need it."

Since 2006, this is the 17th time* in which U.S. Cellular has received this top quality ranking from J.D. Power in the North Central Region, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

U.S. Cellular listens to its local store and customer care associates to provide customer feedback to its teams of engineers. These local engineers drive through the company's coverage area, sometimes hundreds of miles a day, ensuring U.S. Cellular meets its promise to provide service in the middle of anywhere.

J.D. Power's 2016 U.S. Wireless Network Quality Performance Study—Volume 2 includes responses from 43,300 wireless customers. Now in its 14th year, the semiannual study is based on 10 problem areas of the customer experience: dropped calls; calls not connected; audio issues; failed/late voicemails; lost calls; text transmission failures; late text message notifications; web/app connection errors; slow downloads/apps; and email connection errors. Network performance issues are measured as problems per 100 connections, with a lower score reflecting fewer problems and higher overall performance.
