Starwood Waypoint Residential Trust Mourns the Passing of Trustee Christopher B. Woodward

OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Starwood Waypoint Residential Trust SWAY (the "Company" or "Starwood Waypoint"), a leading single-family rental real estate investment trust, announced today that Christopher B. Woodward, a member of the Company's Board of Trustees, passed away on July 30, 2015. He was 66 years old. Mr. Woodward was Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee and had served on the Company's board of trustees since its inception as a stand-alone public company.

"Chris had a significant impact on the development of Starwood Waypoint as a public company. As a Trustee, his insight, advice and leadership were of enormous value to the Board and instrumental to the success of our business. The senior management team and the Board will miss him, and our hearts go out to his family at this time of great loss."

Mr. Woodward was also a member of the Board of Directors of Horizon Technology Finance Corporation (Lead Independent Director & Audit Committee Member). He was a former Director, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, and Acting Chief Financial Officer at Canterbury and also served as Vice President, Corporate Finance at Montgomery Securities Limited. He held senior finance and management executive positions at various other organizations, including 7 years as a CPA engaged in providing audit, tax and financial advisory services at Coopers & Lybrand LLP to various-sized private and public companies. He was an active member of the American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs and the National Association of Corporate Directors. Mr. Woodward received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California.
