Sims Metal Management Announces Retirement of Robert Kelman - Managing Director - European Metals

Sydney, Australia and New York, May 27, 2015 SGMSMSMY  - Sims Metal Management CEO Galdino Claro today announced that Robert ("Bob") Kelman, Managing Director of European Metals, will retire from Sims on June 30, 2015.

Mr. Kelman has been Managing Director of Sims' European Metals division since July 1, 2014, charged with the realignment and growth of Sims' metal recycling operations in Europe. Mr. Kelman will remain as a consultant to Sims for a period of time after his retirement.

"Bob is among the most experienced recycling executives in the world, one who brings both enthusiasm and perspective to every assignment he undertakes, "Mr. Claro said. "We deeply appreciate all he has done for this Company through his 27 years of service."

Mr. Kelman has been involved in the recycling industry for more than 30 years. Prior to his current position, he served as President, North America Metals for Sims. He previously held positions of President of Commercial and Business Development of the Company, and also President and COO of predecessor company Sims-Hugo Neu, where he was the chief architect of the Company's landmark long-term contract with New York City to recycle its curbside post-consumer metals, plastic and glass.

Paul Wright - Director Commercial, UK Metals and Peter Bird - Director Operations, UK Metals will now report directly to Galdino Claro.
